MINSK, 1 December (BelTA) – In an interview with Dmitry Kiselyov, Director General of the Russian state news agency MIA Rossiya Segodnya, Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko explained why he dons military uniform while attending some events, BelTA has learned.
"It's important. First I served in the border troops for many years. When the commander-in-chief comes to meet the military wearing uniform, they consider him as their own," Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
"It's not a show-off. I have been criticized a lot for this, but people have gotten used to it," the president added.
