Lukashenko okays amendments to CIS telemedicine systems agreement

MINSK, 22 May (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko has approved a draft protocol on amending the agreement on cooperation of the CIS member states in creating compatible national telemedicine systems and their consequent development and usage of 19 November 2010. The head of state signed corresponding decree No.209 on 22 May, BelTA has learned.

The document has been approved as the basis for conducting negotiations. The Belarusian government has been authorized to conduct the talks and sign the protocol if the parties come to terms within the limits of the approved draft.

The protocol specifies and expands the spheres of interaction of the CIS member states in creating common medical data space by means of integrating the regional and national telemedicine systems used for consultations and diagnostics.
