Lukashenko: No mercy for those who profit from people's problems

MINSK, 18 April (BelTA) – Those who cash in on people's problems will be given no mercy, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he met with the healthcare minister, the prosecutor general and the KGB chief, BelTA has learned.

“I want to warn that there will be no mercy for those who make money from people's misfortunes,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.

The main topic of the meeting was the fight against corruption in healthcare, including the case against orthopedic doctors initiated back in 2018. “They didn't just tell people lying on the operating table which foreign orthopedic spare parts to insert into their bodies, but they also received bribes from foreigners for this,” the president said.
