MINSK, 17 September (BelTA) - No challenges can break the spirit of the people as long as each of us keeps Belarus in heart, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said at a ceremony to mark the Day of People’s Unity at Minsk Arena on 17 September, BelTA has learned.
“The Day of People’s Unity reminds us that no borders, no challenges can break the spirit of the people if each of us keeps our Belarus in heart,” the president said.
Aleksandr Lukashenko emphasized the need to stop being ashamed of being Belarusians and to constantly turn back and forth. “We have something that unites us and makes us happy in our native land. This is the glorious heritage of our ancestors and outstanding achievements of our contemporaries,” the head of state said. “Formed by the talent and labors of many outstanding sons and daughters of the Belarusian land, our unique culture has long become an integral part of the common heritage of all mankind.”
