MINSK, 18 October (BelTA) – Opponents of Belarus and the country's government might try to stage another revolution during the referendum on the new Constitution, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he made new appointments in the state security system, BelTA has learned.
“The period of the constitutional referendum is being considered as one of possible dates for another attempt to start a revolution (day X, as they think),” the Belarusian leader said.
He noted that they are using modern information technologies tested in other countries and waging a psychological war to shape a negative image of the government among the public. “These methods of influence are aimed to convince government officials and security employees that they have no public support, to raise doubts about the country's policies,” the president said.
