Lukashenko names factors contributing to Belarus’ successful development

MINSK, 21 March (BelTA) – The key to the successful development of Belarus is the effective work of all branches of government and the effective implementation of all decisions made by them, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said at the meeting with deputies of the House of Representatives and members of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the seventh convocation, BelTA has learned.

According to the head of state, the  constitutional amendments regarding the redistribution of powers between the president, parliament, government, local government and self-government bodies are aimed to make sure that all branches of government work effectively, perform their functions in full, make decisions independently and, what is very important, bear responsibility for their implementation.

“This is the key to the further successful development of our country,” said Aleksandr Lukashenko.

The president noted that the adoption of the constitutional amendments required updating about 90 laws. This demanding, painstaking work lasted almost two years.

“We have brought the laws into line, balanced laws and decrees. But we should also keep in mind that there are also regulations of government agencies. I think that the government will organize work to bring them into line with higher legal acts. The government needs to address this problem,” said the head of state.
