Lukashenko, Mirziyoyev visit ski resort near Tashkent

TASHKENT, 9 February (BelTA) - Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko and his Uzbekistan counterpart Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Amirsoy ski resort near Tashkent on the third day of the official visit of the Belarusian delegation to Uzbekistan, BelTA has learned.


In an informal setting, the leaders of the countries once again summed up the results of the talks and compared the notes with regards to the plans for the near and medium term.

The presidents paid special attention to cooperation in sport and tourism, one of the most important areas of humanitarian cooperation between Belarus and Uzbekistan. The day before, the parties signed a program of cooperation in sport for 2024-2025 and an action plan for the development of cooperation in tourism.  

Belarus and Uzbekistan agreed to assist each other in the training of athletes. One  of the emphases will be made on winter sports.

The Amirsoy mountain resort is located 65 kilometers east of Tashkent. It is the largest ski resort in Uzbekistan and the most advanced in Central Asia in Western Tien Shan.

Aleksandr Lukashenko toured the resort and skied down the slopes. By the way, their height here is from 1,630m to 2,275m.
