Lukashenko meets with Sheiman

MINSK, 11 January (BelTA) – Belarusian head of state Aleksandr Lukashenko met with Head of the Belarus President Property Management Directorate Viktor Sheiman to receive his report on 11 January, BelTA has learned.

Viktor Sheiman updated the president on the performance of the enterprises subordinate to the Property Management Directorate in 2020, saying that they produced positive results. Sales revenue amounted to Br2.6 billion (up more than 140%). Agriculture, industry and construction worked well, as production volumes increased in all these sectors. Hotel business, tourism and catering showed more modest results in connection with the coronavirus pandemic.

As for foreign trade, the surplus was about $150 million.

As for cooperation with the countries of the African continent, Viktor Sheiman reported on the conclusion of a contract for the supply of machinery to this region and on the work in progress regarding another contract. The parties are also negotiating the construction of a tractor factory in one of the African countries.

Aleksandr Lukashenko and Viktor Sheiman also discussed preparations for the forthcoming Belarusian People's Congress and new areas of work.
