
MINSK, 11 April (BelTA) - Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has arrived at the Palace of Independence in Minsk for talks with Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko, BelTA has learned.
The talks began with an official welcoming ceremony.
The program of the talks will include a one-on-one meeting and a meeting with the participation of members of the delegations. Aleksandr Lukashenko and Shehbaz Sharif are set to discuss the progress in the implementation of the agreements reached during the official visit of the Belarusian head of state to Pakistan in November 2024. Emphasis will be placed on further development of trade and economic cooperation, including in manufacturing sector, food security, and ways of strengthening humanitarian ties.
The parties will pay special attention to the key issues on the global and regional agenda, interaction of the two states in international organizations.
A number of bilateral documents are expected to be signed following the talks.
On 10 April Aleksandr Lukashenko and Shehbaz Sharif met in an informal setting. The two leaders communicated in a warm, cordial atmosphere and a homely environment.
Shehbaz Sharif brought his family members to the meeting - President of the Pakistan Muslim League, former Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister of Punjab Province Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
