Lukashenko meets with Chairman of CIS Executive Committee Lebedev

MINSK, 27 May (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko is holding a meeting with Chairman of the CIS Executive Committee – CIS Executive Secretary Sergei Lebedev on 27 May, BelTA has learned.

The meeting is taking place in the run-up to the session of the CIS Council of Heads of Government in Minsk.

BelTA quoted the press service of the CIS Executive Committee as saying that in the narrow format the heads of the delegations will share opinions on the topical issues of the economic cooperation in the CIS and determine the date of their next meeting.

At the extended meeting the participants of the summit will discuss measures to prevent the spread of infectious diseases, cooperation in the sanitary protection of the territories of the CIS countries, and the promotion of employment in the CIS.

The participants are expected to sign documents regulating cooperation in the prevention of the use of counterfeited trademarks and geographical indications, the prevention of foot-and-mouth disease as well as the interaction in geodesy, cartography, land registry and distant sounding of the Earth.

It is expected that the participants of the summit will approve the concept of cooperation between government (executive) bodies executing control over national material reserves in the CIS countries till 2030 and a corresponding plan of action.

Besides, plans have been made to sign resolutions on the basic organization of the operational and strategic training of army officers and personnel decisions.
