Lukashenko lays a wreath at Tomb of Unknown Soldier in Moscow

MOSCOW, 14 March (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier during his official visit to Russia, BelTA learned.
The ceremony participants observed a minute of silence to honor the memory of those who died in the Great Patriotic War. The National Anthem of the Republic of Belarus was played during the ceremony. Then Aleksandr Lukashenko laid flowers at the memorial plates in the Alley of Hero Cities in the Alexander Garden.

It is important to note that this year marks the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The day before, Aleksandr Lukashenko confirmed his plans to attend the Victory Parade in Moscow on 9 May. Belarus’ Armed Forces are expected to take part in the parade. “Russia is at the forefront of this process and we appreciate it. Without you, it would have been difficult to defend the truth about Great Victory, which we are proud of today. It is a great honor for us, Belarusians, to take part in the anniversary Victory Parade on Red Square in Moscow on 9 May 2025,” the head of state said.
