MINSK, 20 August (BelTA) – Betrayal is out of the question. Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko made the relevant statement during a ceremony held on 20 August to present state awards to representatives of defense, security, and law enforcement agencies, BelTA has learned.
Aleksandr Lukashenko said: “Remember: I've never been a traitor. By nature I am a military person. I don't have to prove it. You will always be my children for me.”
He remarked that Belarus is a comparatively small country, an average country on the European scale but it is very advanced as far as intellectual resources are concerned. The country does not have large resources and this is why it has to be very cautious and accurate in today's world that has gone mad due to the pandemic and other problems. “We will handle all the challenges but everyone needs to do his or her own work. You've done your work beautifully. I have to do mine. You can see it,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
According to the president, matters of counteraction of the so-called soft power are particularly important today. Soft power is understood as the lobbying and implementation of foreign destructive ideology through various non-governmental organizations and pseudo humanistic projects.
“Guys, we cannot relax. Thank god we handled the situation last year. And you work today already after that. Everyone in his or her line of work. In order to finally stabilize the situation in Belarus,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said. “Honestly speaking, men, I am proud of you. You are not the people who stood at the barricades. We've already thanked those. You are the people, who work in prompt and delicate ways after dismantling those barricades. I am very grateful to you for the clean work. Trust me, I understand a little about your work.”
“I take pride in the fact that we have such people. You are the nucleus of our society. Not because you sit in front of me. I've never flattered anyone and am not going to. You truly are the nucleus. And around you real men should grow up and the future should form. And not only in the military sense,” he added.
