Lukashenko intends to visit Grodno festival of national cultures

MINSK, 12 September (BelTA) — Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko intends to visit the festival of national cultures in Grodno. The president made the statement as he met with representatives of different nationalities living in Belarus on 12 September, BelTA has learned.

Chairman of the Armenian Cultural and Educational Society Hayastan in Minsk Georgy Yegiazaryan invited the head of state to attend the festival. Georgy Yegiazaryan also serves as the Chairman of the Advisory Interethnic Council under the Commissioner for Religious and Ethnic Affairs.

The next 15th anniversary festival will be held in Grodno in 2026. "We have reached such a level that we are not ashamed to invite you to attend our festival," Georgy Yegiazaryan said.

"I am immersed in this festival. Once I initiated its creation," the head of state remarked.

Aleksandr Lukashenko emphasized that participants of the festival on the banks of the Neman, in the beautiful city of Grodno, make the city not a western or eastern, but a real world one. The head of state has not visited the festival so far due to his busy schedule, but hopes to do it in the future. "I’ve decided that I should definitely visit this festival. You have exactly guessed what I was thinking," he said.

The next 15th anniversary festival will be held in Grodno in 2026.
