Lukashenko identifies self-exiled opposition as perpetrators of ten attempted terrorist attacks

MINSK, 9 December (BelTA) – Ten attempts to commit terrorist attacks in Belarus were made by “fugitives” over the course of one year. Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko made the relevant statement in a recent interview with the Turkish television and radio company TRT, BelTA has learned.

The head of state said: “Over the course of one year ten attempts to commit terrorist attacks against people, enterprises, and military installations were made by our fugitives, who are now under the protection of Poland, Lithuania, and Ukraine.”

BelTA reported earlier that the interview of Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko with the Turkish television and radio company TRT touched upon the migrant crisis, pressure on Belarus, Western sanctions and further possible reciprocal measures. Apart from that, Belarusian-Turkish relations and the development of the Union State of Belarus and Russia were discussed.

Nisa Efendioglu, a journalist and presenter of the TV channel TRT Haber, interviewed the Belarusian head of state. The conversation lasted for more than an hour.
