
MINSK, 5 May (BelTA) - Eight peaceful decades have passed, but Belarus is tested for strength almost daily, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said at a ceremony to present state awards on the eve of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War in Minsk on 5 May, BelTA learned.
“Eight peaceful decades have passed, and we are tested for strength almost daily. People in uniform are always on duty,” the head of state noted. “Among the honorees there are many people in uniform.

“Sometimes your feats stay out of the public eye. But I want everyone to know that you are heroes. Thank you for your service,” the Belarusian leader emphasized.
