MINSK, 24 August (BelTA) – After taking part in the plenary session of the National Pedagogical Conference Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko went to help gather in crops in his own household plot, BelTA has learned.
The harvesting of melons and gourds was finished on 24 August. The work had begun the day before upon Aleksandr Lukashenko's instructions.
Five watermelon varieties have been planted in the president's household plot this year, including Top Gun, Romanza, Mirsini, Bedouin, and Early Belarusian.
Upon the president's instructions the harvested crops are traditionally shipped to orphanages and to elderly people.
