MINSK, 5 November (BelTA) - Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko shared some healthy lifestyle tips as he talked to the residents of Mogilev after visiting a new sports center on 5 November, BelTA has learned.
First of all, the head of state urged not to focus on imported food. He admitted that he himself, despite the available opportunities, tries to eat only domestic food. “I have plenty of opportunities to buy imported products, but I have never eaten what we import. We produce our own potatoes, carrots, cabbage. We produce everything. Our meat and dairy products are the best in the world. You should eat only domestically-made products. That is my advice to you,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
His second recommendation is to keep physically active, and the new sports center, which Aleksandr Lukashenko visited, will contribute to this. It has swimming pools and gyms. The president believes that in addition to the development of mass sports this and other sports facilities will be helpful in training world-class athletes.
“It is a world-class super pool. It is a great pool for any competition. The pool basin is perfect,” the president said.
He admitted that he does not like swimming himself, but added that it is a good sport for training lungs, which is especially important amid the current pandemic. “Swimming is not my favorite sport. It is the most effective one, however. When you swim, you breathe properly. It is a hard sport,” the Belarusian leader said.
Apart from swimming, Aleksandr Lukashenko advises to do other sports, most preferably outdoors: “Think about it. A little bit every morning and every evening. At least for half an hour to make your lungs work in the fresh air. The main thing is to live a healthy lifestyle. We can counteract the pandemic with healthy eating and a healthy lifestyle. I am not a supporter of gyms, though. It is better to spend more time outdoors,” said Aleksandr Lukashenko.
The head of state called for more active acquisition and development of land outside cities. “We need to more actively develop idle farmsteads. It is a pity to see it all in such a situation. If you have some extra money, you'd better invest it in this land. By doing so you will also take your children away from these gadgets,” the Belarusian leader said.
