GRODNO, 6 August (BelTA) - Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko was given a mini model of a crystal bridge as he inaugurated a new bridge across Neman River in Grodno on 6 August, BelTA has learned.
Aleksandr Lukashenko said that the gift would take its place in the Palace of Independence in Minsk.
The president inaugurated the motorway bridge Vostochny over the Neman.
The railway bridge, which was built more than 40 years ago on the order of the military as a reserve facility, was reconstructed as a motorway bridge. The bridge was out of use for some time. A decision was made later to integrate the bridge into a new ring road around Grodno.
