
MINSK, 2 April (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has received a message of greetings from Russian President Vladimir Putin as the two countries celebrate the Day of Unity of the Peoples of Russia and Belarus on 2 April. BelTA learned from the Kremlin website.
“Relations between our countries, based on centuries-old traditions of fraternal friendship, spiritual and cultural closeness, are developing vibrantly across all areas. The institutions and mechanisms of the Union State improve systematically,” the Russian leader said.
He stressed that in the current difficult international situation the coordination of efforts of Moscow and Minsk in foreign policy, defense and security, as well as the implementation of programs aimed at strengthening financial, economic, scientific and technological sovereignty are of particular importance.
“I am confident that we will continue to build up mutually beneficial allied ties in every possible way for the benefit of our fraternal peoples, in the interests of ensuring security and stability in the Eurasian space,” the message of greetings reads.
Vladimir Putin wished Aleksandr Lukashenko strong health and success, and also happiness and prosperity to all Belarusians.
