MINSK, 8 June (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko sent greetings to the participants and guests of the 14th Festival of National Cultures, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.
"This colorful event has become an integral part of the cultural life of our state," the message says. "Thanks to such a landmark international project, we have a unique opportunity to see a constellation of talents representing different ethnicities and religions living in peace and harmony on the Belarusian land."
The festival, according to the president, is further evidence that Belarus is always open to people of goodwill.
It is symbolic that the event is taking place in the significant year of the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from Nazi invaders, the head of state noted. Among the Belarusian partisans and underground fighters there were representatives of more than 70 nations and ethnicities who fought heroically against the enemy, not sparing their lives.
"The amazing atmosphere of this holiday contributes to friendly ties, serves as a symbol of unity and spiritual wealth of peoples," the Belarusian leader stressed.
Aleksandr Lukashenko wished the participants and guests of the festival warmth, happiness and health: "Let love for art, pride in your culture help you reach new heights."
