Lukashenko extends Rescuers' Day greetings

MINSK, 19 January (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has sent greetings to the personnel and veterans of Belarusian emergency services who celebrate their professional holiday, Rescuers' Day, on 19 January, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

“You are the first to come to the aid of people in trouble. You bravely respond to the challenges of natural disasters. You professionally perform your duty, deliver humanitarian aid to the population of the countries affected by disasters and natural calamities,” said Aleksandr Lukashenko.

The head of state stressed that by demonstrating dedication to their work, courage and bravery in the most difficult and dangerous situations, the rescuers pass every test of strength with honor and dignity.

The president said special words of gratitude to the veteran workers who stood at the origins of the Belarusian emergency services and added a lot of glorious pages to their history.

“I am convinced that the safety of citizens will continue to be reliably protected by the emergency response agencies and units of the Republic of Belarus. I thank all those who choose a risky but very important profession of a rescuer,” the message of greetings runs.
