MINSK, 2 December (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has sent greetings to President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic Thongloun Sisoulith as the country celebrates National Day, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.
According to the head of state, Belarus and Laos have a long history of interaction based on respect, trust and readiness to help each other.
This year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. “Our friendship is certainly time-tested,” the message of greetings reads. “We are confidently building a bilateral partnership dialogue. Both states have similar approaches on fundamental issues of global and regional agendas, including peaceful resolution of any conflicts on the basis of international law.”
Aleksandr Lukashenko shared the warmest impressions of his meeting with the leader of Laos in Kazan at the BRICS summit. “It is pleasant to note that Minsk and Vientiane are interested in further development of mutually beneficial cooperation and practical realization of the significant economic potential of Belarusian-Laos ties,” the president said.
The head of state reiterated his invitation to the president of Laos to visit hospitable Belarus at any convenient time to discuss in detail all matters of mutual interest to the two countries.
