Lukashenko extends Independence Day greetings to Angola

MINSK, 11 November (BelTA) — Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has extended greetings to Angola’s President João Lourenço as the country celebrates Independence Day, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

"The Angolan people defended the sovereignty of their country in a uphill heroic struggle and won the right to pursue an independent foreign and domestic policy, to build an economy for the people," the message of greetings reads. "Belarus has gained successful experience of implementing projects in agriculture, food security, industrial cooperation, healthcare, education and personnel training to combat natural and man-made disasters. I am sure that cooperation in these areas will contribute to the social and economic development of Angola."

Aleksandr Lukashenko reaffirmed his commitment to expanding bilateral contacts and developing the legal framework. "I will be happy to welcome you in Minsk any time convenient for you. I propose to intensify the exchange of delegations to enhance practical partnership in various areas," the president pointed out.

The head of state wished good health and all the best for future endeavors to João Lourenço and unity and a bright future to friendly Angolan people.
