Lukashenko extends condolences to Myanmar over typhoon Yagi

MINSK, 26 September (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko expressed his deepest condolences to Prime Minister of Myanmar, Chairman of the State Administration Council of Myanmar Min Aung Hlaing in connection with the typhoon Yagi, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

"Unfortunately, the typhoon Yagi did not bypass your country and led to a tragedy. The disaster killed hundreds of people and seriously affected the national economy. In this difficult time, on behalf of the Belarusian people and myself, I express my deepest sympathy to you, the families of the victims, all citizens who were affected by the typhoon," the letter of condolence reads.

Aleksandr Lukashenko wished the situation in Myanmar to stabilize as soon as possible and people feel safe and calm again.
