Lukashenko expresses condolences to Pakistan over flood and landslide victims



MINSK, 18 August (BelTA) -  Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has extended condolences to Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif following the devastating floods and landslides in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province that resulted in significant loss of life, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

“Please accept our sincere condolences in connection with the natural disaster in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. On behalf of the Belarusian people and personally, I extend my deepest sympathy to those who lost their loved ones, and wish all affected a swift recovery,” the message to Pakistan’s president reads.

In his message to the prime minister, the head of state noted that it was with great sorrow that the people of Belarus learned the news of the numerous casualties in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Aleksandr Lukashenko expressed sincere condolences to the families of the victims, offered words of support to all those affected, and wished for the swift recovery of Pakistan's disaster-stricken regions.
