Lukashenko expresses condolences to Obama over Orlando shooting

MINSK, 15 June (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko has expressed condolences to U.S. President Barack Obama, relatives and friends of the victims of the mass shooting in Orlando, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian head of state.

“The Republic of Belarus resolutely condemns terrorism and any manifestations of hatred, our country is absolutely against these crimes,” the message of condolences reads.

BelTA reported earlier that the shooting took place at a night club in Orlando in the early hours of 12 June. The mass shootings claimed the lives of 50 people, another 53 people were injured. It has been called the worst mass shooting in the history of the United States.

U.S. citizen Omar Mateen opened fire inside a night club in Orlando. He was shot dead by the police in three hours after the massacre began. Before the mass shooting, Omar Mateen called 911 and announced his allegiance to ISIL.
