MINSK, 3 January (BelTA) - We need to make everything perfect in the country in the next five-year period of quality and the Year of Improvement, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he held a meeting with authorized representatives on 3 January, BelTA has learned.
“I have instructed the head of the President Administration to prepare two decrees: the first one on the five-year period of quality, the second one - on the improvement of our country. I believe this is the first time I will sign decrees to deal with these issues in detail. Let's be frank, the Year of Quality passed very quickly: we did not even notice it. We should criticize the media for not paying enough attention to this. But the media did not have many opportunities to cover, which was a problem. In this regard, there is a certain Belarusian formality: we will manage somehow. Let's approach this in a proper way, not somehow,” Aleksandr Lukashenko emphasized.
According to him, these decrees will be prepared in January. “People need to know what improvement means and what needs to be done to achieve it. We have a lot of work ahead of us. We need to put things in order in the country. To be honest, it will cost a lot of money. When tourists come to us, they immediately notice how clean and beautiful our country is. We need to make everything top-notch,” the president said.
“We have many problems, you know them all. I have outlined them more than once: pricing, housing and public utilities, and others. We need to tackle them. You need strict discipline. Everything that we have agreed on must be fulfilled. This applies to the government, the President Administration and others,” the head of state added.
