MINSK, 10 February (BelTA) - Every person has their own journey to the faith, and they should be free to make it, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said at a meeting with representatives of religious denominations in Minsk on 10 February, BelTA learned.
“I have always said that every person has their own journey to the church and no one should prevent them from making it. If Muslims want to visit a mosque to pray, they should be allowed to do so. If a Catholic wants to attend a Catholic church, we should not prevent them from doing so. If Orthodox Christians wish to pray in Orthodox churches, they should be free to do so. Our task is to help people find their own path and support them in this endeavor. There should be no pressure. This approach helped us to achieve the inter-confessional peace in Belarus,” the Belarusian leader said.
