Lukashenko: Economic life of farm machines in Belarus should be at lease 15 years

Pruzhany District, 19 August (BelTA) – The economic life of harvesters and energy-saturated tractors should be at least 15 years, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said during a working trip to Pruzhany District on 19 August, BelTA has learned.

When touring the agricultural company Zhuravlinoye in Pruzhany District Aleksandr Lukashenko was briefed about the state of engine yards in Brest Oblast, the work to bring a number of them to the proper level.

The head of state drew attention to the economic life of expensive farm machines. For example, the best farms have vehicles operational up to 20 years. Therefore, the president suggests ensuring at least a period of 15 years. "Not 10! In terms of farm machines their service life should be 15 years. No less," the Belarusian leader stressed.

He assured that the region's needs in farm machines will be met next year. But it is important to ensure the proper service life and proper maintenance.

"We must take good care of farm machines. They cost a lot of money!” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
