MINSK, 4 February (BelTA) – As the head of state Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko primarily feels like a person, who worked together with a generation of citizens to create the first ever sovereign Belarusian state. He made the relevant statement in an interview with the VGTRK reporter, radio and TV host Vladimir Soloviev, BelTA has learned.
Vladimir Soloviev asked him: “How do you feel? As the president of Belarus, the father of the Belarusian nation, the creator of the modern Belarusian state, as the dictator, on whose will the life of every Belarusian depends on? How do you see yourself internally?”
Aleksandr Lukashenko said: “As a person. I haven't become, I haven't acquired those qualities, fortunately. I don't view myself as the creator.”
The president stressed that he had not created the modern Belarusian state alone but had done it together with other colleagues, a generation of Belarusian citizens. “I created this sovereign independent state for the first time in the history of Belarus together with my colleagues, who worked with me in different times. I believe so. It is the key thing that my generation has done, not me alone,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
“It is your child…” Vladimir Soloviev kept the conversation going.
“It is part of me. I have nothing apart from it,” the Belarusian leader noted.
