MINSK, 13 May (BelTA) – When appointing new heads of district administrations Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko drew attention to the work of village councils and the role of enterprises in the districts, BelTA has learned.
"Rural councils work poorly. We need to tackle this issue in the most thorough way. I suggest we put Natalya Kochanova in charge of local self-government," the head of state said. “Your main support is the heads of local enterprises. They have financial resources, and people usually address them first for help."
"We need to give more clout to heads of enterprises: agricultural, trade, maintenance and industrial enterprises, if there are any in a district," Aleksandr Lukashenko added.
