Lukashenko: Constructive relations with United States have always been important for Belarus

MINSK, 4 July (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko sent greetings to the people of the United States of America as the country celebrates Independence Day, BelTA learned from the press service of the head of state.

Belarus has always attached importance to constructive relations with the United States of America, and the period of history when such relations prevailed was beneficial for the two states, the Belarusian leader stressed. 

"We appreciate the efforts of ordinary Americans who sincerely helped us in the fight against Nazism, post-war reconstruction of the country, and mitigation of the consequences of the accident in the Ukrainian Chernobyl," the message reads. 

"We invite you to overcome political stereotypes and look beyond the horizon, form your own opinion of Belarus and evaluate its achievements," the president said. "I am sure that many will be pleasantly surprised and will want to get to know our country better."

Aleksandr Lukashenko wished the people of the United States peace and wisdom and peaceful coexistence with all people of good will. "We cordially invite you to Belarus!" the congratulation says.
