MINSK, 6 September (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko has congratulated residents of Grodno Oblast on the 80th anniversary since the region was founded, the press service of the head of state told BelTA.
“The land along the Neman River is a true pearl of Belarus where picturesque nature, an authentic culture, glorious traditions, and an ancient history full of events are uniquely combined,” the congratulatory message reads. “Established right decades ago in the year of the republic’s liberation from Nazi invaders, nowadays the oblast develops successfully thanks to the persevering creative labor of the residents. Agriculture and tourism industry, manufacturing sector, and the nuclear energy industry have become hallmarks of the region.”
The head of state noted that Grodno Oblast has always been famous for significant accomplishments in economy and the social sphere while Grodno residents are famed for their cordiality, hospitality and a special dedication to their home area. It is no accident that the final stage of the republican festival of national cultures takes place in Grodno and demonstrates the unity and the spiritual solidarity of the Belarusian nation, its eagerness to live in accord with all the nearby neighbors and faraway ones, the president added.
“I am convinced that you are capable of making any fairy-tale come true, of realizing the most complicated project. And we will get to hear about your outstanding accomplishments more than once,” the Belarusian leader stressed.
Aleksandr Lukashenko wished further labor accomplishments under Belarus’ peaceful sky to Grodno Oblast residents as well as good health, happiness, optimism, and prosperity.
