Lukashenko congratulates Belarusian border guards on professional holiday

MINSK, 28 May (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko has sent greetings to the command staff, personnel and veterans of the border guard service as they celebrate their professional holiday, Border Guard Day, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

“Eighty years ago, warriors in green hats were the first to face the enemy who treacherously attacked our Motherland; the border guards showed unparalleled courage and valor in border battles,” the message says.

The president emphasized that Belarusian border guards are real patriots of the country, worthy of their heroic ancestors. “Today, in the face of a direct threat to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Belarus, each of you shows exceptional professionalism and is doing everything possible to keep the state border intact, maintain stability in the society and safety of people. I am convinced that as you cherish the memory of the feat of grandfathers and great-grandfathers, remain loyal to the oath and adhere to the glorious traditions of the border service, you will continue to reliably protect the sacred borders of the Fatherland,” the president said.

Aleksandr Lukashenko gave special words of gratitude to border guard veterans who devoted their entire lives to serving the country and people.

The president wished the command staff, personnel, veterans of the border guard service and their families strong health, happiness and prosperity.
