
MINSK, 9 September (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has extended greetings to President of the State Affairs Commission of North Korea Kim Jong Un as the country celebrates the Day of the Foundation of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.
“Since the proclamation of the sovereign state in 1948, North Korea has gone through numerous trials, which have only strengthened the spirit of your people and allowed them to preserve their subjectivity and unique identity,” the message of greetings reads.
The Belarusian leader noted that the history of the development of relations between Minsk and Pyongyang is an example of peaceful interaction based on the principles of friendship, a pursuit of equal dialogue, and the similarity of moral and cultural values.
“I warmly recall our recent meeting in Beijing. I confirm my readiness to visit your country at the earliest time convenient for both sides to bring interstate relations to a qualitatively new level,” the president emphasized. “I am confident that further Belarusian-Korean cooperation and our joint work in international organizations will benefit both peoples and will contribute to the growth of trust and mutual understanding.”
Aleksandr Lukashenko wished Kim Jong Un good health and new achievements, as well as peace and prosperity to the people of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
