
MINSK, 31 August (BelTA) - Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has extended greetings to Supreme Ruler of Malaysia Sultan Ibrahim and the entire Malaysian people as the country celebrates Independence Day, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.
The president confirmed Belarus' interest in the further strengthening of relations with Malaysia on the principles of friendship and mutual respect, as well as its readiness to expand interstate cooperation in various areas of mutual interest.
“I am pleased to note that in the context of geopolitical turbulence, we share the idea of the need to form a more just, multipolar world,” the message of greetings reads. “We expect that similar approaches of Belarus and Malaysia to global issues will make it possible in the near future to intensify political contacts at all levels and to create an effective mechanism for developing bilateral interaction - an intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation.”
Aleksandr Lukashenko wished Sultan Ibrahim good health, boundless happiness, and fruitful activity, and also wished the people of Malaysia peace and a happy future.
