Lukashenko condemns killing of people on Belarus-EU border

MINSK, 29 November (BelTA) – During the meeting at the strategic control center of the Defense Ministry on 29 November, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko condemned the killing of people during the migrant crisis, BelTA has learned.

“As this migrant crisis is unfolding, this scum has resorted to killing people. Last night they threw a body on our border, this night another body was found. It was done in the same way. A dead or maybe half-dead person is placed into a sleeping bag and dumped on the border. When border guards come across this migrant, this person is already dead. Yesterday, as far as I know, three people were found by border guards on a farm. When they found a corpse, they saw three sleeping bags. They started searching,” the head of state said.

According to Aleksandr Lukashenko, he was informed about it by Chairman of the State Border Committee Anatoly Lappo. The refugees were found in an abandoned house, and they could no longer walk. “They crawled several hundred meters, found a hut. Probably, locals helped them to kindle the Russian stove,” the head of state noted. “Had they been found one day later, their legs would have had to be amputated or they would have been dead altogether,” he added.

“Just think of these ‘democrats'. How hideous one must be to throw them into the adjacent territory. It looks like this act is meant to send some message. What kind of message? What is behind this? I think investigators will figure it out,” the Belarusian leader said.
