MOZYR DISTRICT, 2 August (BelTA) – During a meeting with residents of the Prudok agro-town, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko commented on rumors about his health, BelTA has learned.
“Our self-exiled opposition is also preparing for the presidential election. They crafted a plan: first of all, to try to persuade people that the president has robbed everyone. If so, please, take it [money]! Just like that. Take my money. They say, it is kept in the Emirates, so go there and take it. It is impossible to hide money now. They see that this strategy is not working, as there is nothing to take. Keep in mind, I will never get my hands on what does not belong to me. This is a fundamental rule that my mother taught me,” the head of state said.
The president noted that some people tend to have this groupthink: those who hold power will definitely use it to steal something. “Put facts on the table. If you accuse me of something, you need to prove it. When they realized that people were not buying this ‘thief’ trick, they concocted another plan, which is called ‘poor health’, ‘on his last legs’. They have been burying me for 25 years already. But I am not going [to die]. I ask God for only one thing: to remain as healthy as I am now,” the head of state said.
“It was nice to meet you! I often say: if you feel really bad (emotionally or physically), you need to go out and talk to people. To the hinterland! Although you are not the hinterland, but thank you anyway,” the Belarusian leader added.
