MINSK, 4 April (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko commented on HC Dinamo Minsk’s performance in the ongoing KHL playoffs as he spoke at a meeting to discuss support for the country’s physical education and sport organizations on 4 April, BelTA has learned.
“It is still early to draw any conclusions. Very, very early. The performance we saw yesterday is atypical for HC Dinamo Minsk. They can both deliver big and fail in the next game. We will see what we have tomorrow. Anyway you did a noble thing in the third period. CSKA also did a good thing, not trying to go from zero. We did not push further, either,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
The president added that in the second period Dinamo Minsk somehow relaxed after taking the lead. “This is unacceptable. If you play, you need to give your best. Instead, they slowed down in the second period,” the head of state said.
As BelTA reported earlier, HC Dinamo Minsk blanked HC CSKA Moscow 7-0 in the fifth match of the KHL playoff series. The match was played at Minsk Arena. Dmitry Kvartalnov’s team are now leading the series against CSKA 3-2. The Bisons are one step away from making their maiden Gagarin Cup quarterfinal. HC Dinamo Minsk will be back in action in Moscow on 5 April. If needed the seventh match will be played in Minsk on 7 April.
