MINSK, 3 February (BelTA) - The campaign to amend the Constitution meets all democratic criteria, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he received credentials from the ambassadors of foreign countries in Minsk on 3 February, BelTA has learned.
Welcoming the foreign diplomats, the head of state noted that they are beginning their posts as ambassadors in Belarus at a special and even epoch-making time because the country is gearing up to hold a national referendum on constitutional amendments on 27 February.
"It is of fundamental importance that our people determine the further development of the state themselves, without any external pressure. I would like to emphasize it. That is why we consider this political campaign as fully consistent with all democratic criteria," Aleksandr Lukashenko said
