MINSK, 31 July (BelTA) – Belarusian farmers need to maneuver hour by hour to harvest grain despite challenging weather conditions, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said during a meeting with Belarusian ambassadors and governors in Minsk on 31 July, BelTA has learned.
Addressing governors, the president highlighted the critical need for agricultural flexibility during this year's volatile harvest season. Rains giving way to drought require constant operational adjustments from our farmers, he stated.

Aleksandr Lukashenko cited an example from recent field inspections: “Harvesters stand idle for half a day, then another half-day - all because one field section has completely lodged crops needing time to dry. What are you waiting for?” the head of state said. “Right across the fence there is another large field, half standing grain, half flattened. Just move the harvester there and harvest the viable sections first. Instead, two or three machines stand idle, waiting for the wet portion to dry. We need to reassess field conditions hourly.”
According to Aleksandr Lukashenko, Belarusian farmers now have access to the most advanced combine harvesters available, but emphasized the critical shortage of qualified operators to handle the sophisticated machinery.

“We must find solutions, but the harvest must be collected no matter what. The situation is complicated [adverse weather conditions]. The grain quality is good, but we once again have to rely heavily on maize. Remember nature's balance: today's flooding will become tomorrow's drought,” the president said.
