MINSK, 22 February (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko brought a basket of Belarusian food to Sochi as a gift to President of Russia Vladimir Putin. A photo of the gift has been published in the Telegram channel Pul Pervogo, BelTA has learned.
The basket contained primarily meat products and cheeses made by various Belarusian companies. Judging by the labels the choice included jamon and parmesan cheese. Although there are more traditional Belarusian foods such as bacon.
The Russian president had previously spoken highly of Belarusian food during the talks. “Foodstuffs from Belarus are hugely popular in Russia: they are always of good quality and are affordable,” he said.
