Lukashenko:  Belarusians should value what they have

VITEBSK, 10 July (BelTA) – Belarusians should value what they have, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said at the opening ceremony of the 34th International Arts Festival Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk on 10 July, BelTA has learned.
After the award ceremony, the head of state decided to address the participants and guests of Slavianski Bazaar, as they say, beyond the protocol. Aleksandr Lukashenko wished everyone, first of all, to be optimistic. According to him, this is the most important thing today.
“I wish you all the best in life. And most importantly, health. And don't worry, don't get carried away too much when you watch TV, post something on TikTok and other media platforms,” the president said.

Aleksandr Lukashenko noted that now the IT sector is increasingly focused on artificial intelligence.

“When I attend high-profile events, I cannot help thinking: do all these people who talk about artificial intelligence have any idea what it really is and what it can lead to? I don't want to say that I am a great expert in this area, but I have been studying it all along. I studied it in the Emirates. Chinese and Americans discussed it with me in a private setting. I asked them one question: what is it in essence and what will it lead to? The conversation was frank, and it was quite recently, when artificial intelligence was in the nascence. Technology-savvy people told me: Mr. President, we don't know where it will take us,” the head of state said.

“What I am saying is: be sensible. There is a battle over the heads of our people. As soon as someone wins you over, we will be done. No drones, no missiles, no military action [against us] can defeat us if we believe in our victory, like those people 80 years ago. If we are loyal, if we stay grounded, if we value what we have, then there is nothing we should fear. Therefore, stay mindful! And teach your children to be so. I also wish you good health! Everything else can be bought,” said Aleksandr Lukashenko.
