MINSK, 3 July (BelTA) – Belarusians have only one teacher: their history, the history of winners. Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko made the statement during an army parade held on 3 July to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Belarus’ liberation from Nazi invaders, BelTA has learned.
Aleksandr Lukashenko said: “High-ranking officials in Washington calculate profits as they sell weapons and force the Ukrainian nation into poverty on the way to the main goal. The goal has not changed for centuries. But news hooks are getting better. At the beginning of last centuries Slavs were accused of inability to wisely manage their natural resources and territories, which are supposed to belong to the entire world community for some reason. And now we allegedly have a wrong kind of democracy.”
The president reminded that Nazi Germany assumed the role of “the teacher” back then. “Today the entire European Union led by the United States of America is trying to teach us. We know their real goals. We know who stands behind every provocation at Belarus’ state border, behind every terrorist threat to the peaceful population. We have never been more vigilant. We have learned all the lessons of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War. And we have only one teacher – our history. The history of winners,” Aleksandr Lukashenko stated.
“This is why today on the ground and in the sky we will also travel the road of pride for genuine heirs of Great Patriotic War heroes, pride for those, who put on military uniforms in these dangerous times. We will do it in the name of peace,” the Belarusian leader stated.
