Lukashenko: Belarus needs to grow stronger to retain status of strong nation

MINSK, 24 April (BelTA) – In order to maintain the status of a strong nation, Belarusians need to grow even stronger, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said addressing the 7th Belarusian People’s Congress on 24 April, BelTA has learned.

“The time of the strong is coming. Not aggressively strong, but strong in spirit. Real power is the desire to become better, to make the world a better place, to accept its national, religious, ideological diversity, to help those who are weaker. This is how we, Belarusians, understand the strength of the nation,” Aleksandr Lukashenko emphasized.

The head of state asked: “What kind of people are we, today’s Belarusians, who have held out against the media warfare and sanctions for a third of a century? Of course, we have hardened living under constant pressure and aggression.”

“In general, moving forward against all odds is a unique, centuries-long path of the Belarusian people. We are a strong nation. What should we do first and foremost to maintain this status? Everything is simple - we need to become even stronger. A strong economy is at the core of this drive. But it is also a result of the right geopolitical choice,” the Belarusian leader noted.
