Lukashenko: Belarus-Latvia contacts contribute to regional security

MINSK, 18 November (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko has congratulated Latvian President Egils Levits and the people of this country on the national holiday - the 101st anniversary of the proclamation of the Republic of Latvia, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

"Our countries, which share common history, traditions and culture, have established good neighborly relations. Active contacts in political, trade, economic, humanitarian and other sectors contribute to trust and mutual understanding, security and stability in the region," the message reads.

The head of state expressed hope for further development of fruitful cooperation for the benefit of the peoples of both countries, and wished strong health and success to Egils Levits, and peace and prosperity to people of Latvia.
