MINSK, 9 August (BelTA) – Belarus is ready for a dialogue with Lithuania but without any preconditions. Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko made the statement during a meeting with representatives of the general public, experts, and mass media titled as the Big Conversation with the President on 9 August, BelTA has learned.
Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed that Belarus and Lithuania have always lived and will live like peaceful and friendly neighbors. “But it is up to us when it will happen. Someone recently said that Lukashenko has to take some steps and then we will have something to talk about. Don't you set conditions for me. You have no right to do it. I haven't been in power for a year or five years. I didn't hide militants or opposition members in Belarus – there are some in Lithuania, too. I haven't made unfriendly steps towards Lithuania,” he said.
“If you want, let's start a dialogue at some level. But without any preconditions. Because Belarus does not deserve such a conversation,” the Belarusian leader stated.
