Lukashenko: Belarus is capable of defending itself, inflicting unacceptable damage on enemy

MINSK, 20 February (BelTA) – Belarus has everything it needs to defend itself and to inflict unacceptable damage on the enemy, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said at a large meeting with the senior staff of the national security agencies in Minsk on 20 February, BelTA has learned.

In order to strengthen the national defense capabilities, the country has adjusted the training of defense, security and law enforcement personnel taking into account the specifics of modern warfare. "The joint exercises conducted with the Russian Armed Forces (we realized that we are no worse than them) and the Wagner PMC have yielded results," the head of state said. The real combat experience should be promptly introduced into the daily training of all servicemen, but especially special forces," Aleksandr Lukashenko said.

The president stressed that Belarus is strengthening its military-technical potential. The army continues to receive new models of hardware. The latest models of the Belarusian MLRS Polonaise-M with a range of up to 300km have been put into service. Two S-400 anti-aircraft missile divisions and two divisions of Iskander-M missile systems have entered service. Tactical nuclear weapons have been deployed on the territory of the country. "Today it is the most important element of deterrence of any adversary," Aleksandr Lukashenko said.

"We have everything we need to defend ourselves and, as the military say, to inflict unacceptable damage on the enemy," the head of state stressed.
