MINSK, 17 September (BelTA) – Belarus has a strong government and a strong united nation, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said at the patriotic forum "This is OUR History!" to mark the Day of People's Unity in Minsk on 17 September, BelTA has learned.
"The world has lost its mind and is crumbling. How will all this end? It is for the first time since the end of the Cold War that the humanity has found itself on the verge of a nuclear conflict. In this ongoing hysteria, we will have to prove our national maturity and readiness to respond to the geopolitical challenges of the 21st century with a united front. Back then, at the beginning of the 20th century, the young Belarusian republic did not have the strength to defend itself. Today we will defend our ancestral national borders!" Aleksandr Lukashenko emphasized.
"Because the blood of victors runs in our veins, and we are ready to take up arms to defend our native land. Because we have a strong government and a strong united nation," the president said.
