Lukashenko: Belarus has no plans to attack Ukraine

MOSCOW, 14 March (BelTA) - Belarus has no plans to attack Ukraine, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said in an interview with TV presenter Olga Skabeyeva for the Rossiya 1 TV channel, BelTA learned.
“Yes, the border [between Belarus and Ukraine] is barricaded and mined. They have always been afraid that we will get involved in the war. We stay committed to peace. We have no plans to attack Ukraine now. It would be even dishonorable on our part,” the Belarusian leader stressed.

“They call me an aggressor, saying that I allowed the Russians enter Ukraine from Belarus. First of all, I honestly admitted that I was not informed about it by the Russian General Staff. Once the exercise was over, Russia started withdrawing its troops. They decided that the way to Vladivostok or to the Urals via Kiev was closer. Well, this was the decision of the generals who were withdrawing the troops. Ask them why they chose that way,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said. “Anyway, if I had known about it, I would not have helped Ukraine. Why? Because Ukraine was already in a state of economic war with us by that time. They had imposed sanctions against us even before the Americans and the Europeans did. They [Ukraine] started that war against us, and, partly, against Russia too. There is nothing to blame me for.”
